Dr. John Shirley sits in the Livermore City Council
Chambers as it was named in his honor.
On Memorial Day Sunday, May 29 from 4 PM – 7PM, Sblend and Beth Sblendorio will be hosting a community BBQ in honor of former Livermore Mayor and distinguished WWII veteran, Dr. John Shirley. Awarded a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and a Purple Heart as well as the Croix de Guerre by French President Jacques Chirac, Dr. Shirley later served on the Livermore City Council from 1958 to 1966.
